Inside peek!

Because I am unable to attend the pre-drywall meeting, we set up a time with our SR to walk through the house so I could get a look at the progress at the current stage. I'm glad we did, because we found out from our PM that by Thursday they expect to start hanging drywall, and then move on to trim work. So it was now or never to see the house before the frames start to get covered up!

The roof, the roof, the roof is on...

When we pulled up to the house this time I had to do a double take - "Wait, is that ours!?". It feels like I blinked and the framing process was over - I wasn't expecting to see an actual house already!

The shingles up on our roof are done, exterior doors have been set, windows are in, and the 'house wrap' is complete.

The brick will start coming in on Monday and should go on by Tuesday - which means when we go to look next week the exterior will probably be close to complete!

The HVAC technicians completed the duct work earlier this week, and the plumber completed all of his installations.  The electricians started wiring on Wednesday and the sprinkler contractor and guardian are to follow directly after the electricians are done.

After all this we will start the first of several inspections to make sure we are abiding by any water, gas, and general county codes.

Also, our pre-drywall meeting is set for next week! I can't make it due to work, but Arthur will get the chance to walk around the house with our PM. He is bringing along an independent inspector just so we have another, more knowledgable pair of eyes on everything. The inspector we are bringing was recommended by others in our neighborhood and they have all had positive experiences with him, so we trust he is well worth the money.

We can't wait to see the inside! Pictures will be posted after Arthur does his walk-through. Happy Saturday, everyone!

We've Been Framed!

Unbelievable! We haven't had the chance yet to go to the house, but our phenomenal PM sent us an update today.

See those little shingles stacked on the roof!? Tomorrow, they will water-proof the roof to start laying them down. Earlier next week they will start HVAC installation. The entire framing process is just about done and we are already being asked to schedule our pre-drywall meeting at the end of the month!

Movin' On Up

We don't have time to stop by the house before we leave town for Labor Day- but our Project Manager (PM) is so awesome that he sent us an update on the progress today! The have framed the second floor, and next week they should be ready start dropping and shingling the roof.

Here is our PMs photo from the construction site!
